Pixar has officially announced its next original animated movie “Luca”. A coming-of-age adventure film set in Italy. The film is being directed by Enrico Casarosa (La Luna) and produced by Andrea Warren (Lava, Cars 3).
The story is set in “a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, the original animated feature is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: he is a sea monster from another world just below the water’s surface.”
Enrico went on to state how meaningful this film is for him:
Pixar has yet to fail to impress everyone with their amazing story telling and animation. The fact this movie takes place in Italy is definitely gonna hit a lot of soft spots in certain fans. The film is expected to be a heartwarming hit.
Luca is set to open in U.S. theaters on June 18th, 2021, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
